This course is delivered in two formats:

1. Direct to individuals who want to deliver the Detox protocol to their existing clients or those beginning their journey with Acupuncture. Simply select a training date and book directly with us.
   
   
2. To services and organisations, such as NHS Trusts, Cancer Care Teams, Community Teams and Rehabilitation Centres. Training is provided within your workplace to your employees. Please contact us to arrange training dates and for group pricing. 

The training concentrates on teaching individuals the theory and practice of Auricular Acupuncture with some Traditional Chinese Medicine theory although this is limited. On the practical side it concentrates on locating and treating the 5 primary detoxification points using needles.

Practitioners begin by working on rubber ears, prior to administering treatment to their colleagues, clients and family under supervision. As an NHS preferred training organisation particular emphasis is paid to Safe Auricular Acupuncture needling practice, techniques and controls, which form an important feature of our course.

Although the course specifically concentrates on detoxification and recovery from substance misuse, we try to give our students a broad insight into the theoretical and practical applications of Auricular Acupuncture as a complementary therapy.  Practical assessments are carried out throughout the course and the written theory assessment is carried out on the final day.    

For service providers and organisations:

Detox courses are offered: ‘in-house’ to the NHS, HM Prison service, community based substance misuse agencies, residential rehabilitation centers as well as mental health services where training is delivered in a group setting.

The Detox Practitioners Certificate is a specialised program with particular emphasis on the detoxification process in substance misuse. Individuals successfully completing the course may use the Detox Protocol as an adjunct to their work.

Depending on the treatments you wish to provide to clients or service users we are able to offer additional days to cover specific protocols as part of a CPD. 

Due to high demand we offer 1-2 day in-house Detox Plus (CPD’s for specialist areas) such as:

• Smoking Cessation
• Disordered Eating
• Menopause
