Auricular Acupuncture is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine and is taught using the traditional Chinese ear map rather than a set of complex of charts and systems, tools, machines and gadgets. The Chinese approach is clinically useful and practical. You will learn over 120 points and a dozen protocols to treat wide-ranging lifestyle problems and conditions.

Auricular Acupuncture is a reflex science in that each part of the body has a corresponding point or zone on the ear where an imbalance in the corresponding body part registers, similar in a way to reflexology or iridology.

Functional MRI (fMRI) shows that Auricular Acupuncture triggers an effect in areas of the brain specific to the corresponding zone on the ear. Each point treated releases endorphins, blocks pain receptors, and elevates levels of adenosine that affect a change in the targeted anatomical area.

Our training in Auricular Acupuncture, is designed to equip those with a passion for health and wellbeing who wish to pursue a professional healthcare career, or for those with a primary discipline looking to add a powerful new skill. It will cover the use of needles, ASP’s, ear seeds, ear massage and Electro-Auricular Therapy.

The emphasis of the training is very much on developing the practical skills needed to empower individuals using Auricular Acupuncture straightaway in their clinics.

This is a Professional Practitioner Certification in Auricular Acupuncture mapped to the National Occupational Standards (NOS), comparable qualifications to NVQ 2 at Level 3

Jonathan Tarr is a fully trained Traditional Chinese Medicine TCM body / Auricular Acupuncturist and Shiatsu practitioner and teacher. He trained with Chinese doctors at the Acumedic Foundation in London, England, continuing his personal and professional development in Beijing, China. Jonathan was awarded The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellowship 2004, presented by Her Majesty the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
